The Effects of Society on Carrie Meeber In Theodore Dreisers Sister Carrie, Carrie Meeber is portrayed as a poor helpless young cleaning woman living in a predominately male society. Dreiser reveals Carrie as a bright, timid girlfriend full of the illusions of ignorance and y stunnedh (Dreiser 1).
